We are looking for
We at Clevry are looking for an Assistant Controller for our client NEOT Group to join NEOT’s finance organisation in the Business and Stock Control (BSC) team. The position is permanent, full-time and located in Kamppi, Helsinki. Start date is in late May or early June.

In this new role you will be assisting in various tasks of team members responsible for Controlling of Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian Inventories and related operations. BSC team has a diverse range of responsibilities. The Team’s main role is to control and value inventories, control and report biofuel mandates, excise taxes and other authority reporting, report monthly operative results as well as conclude monthly reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

You will be participating in tasks such as
  • Stock accounting of Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian Oil and Bio product inventories
  • Inventory valuations
  • Various authority reporting
  • Managing price formulas and reporting daily prices
  • Daily sales invoicing
  • Reconciling refinery production and invoicing
  • Developing calculations and tools

As your role is to assist and support team members with different responsibilities, you have a unique chance to learn and develop understanding of NEOT operations and gather a deep understanding of the business. Idea is that the Assistant Controller will learn and grow in the role and could eventually take over a wider range of responsibilities. 

As you will work with different kinds of stakeholders, you need to have excellent co-operation skills. The role may require occasional traveling to Sweden and/or Norway or within Finland. Your work requires precision, and you are expected to have an eye for detail. We emphasize teamwork capabilities, and you will be working closely with the team, but beyond that you also need to work independently and take actions proactively. In this role you get to develop both processes and systems.

NEOT Group is a significant independent fuel procurement company in the Baltic Sea region and we also actively operate on the global trading market. We specialize in oil and renewable products wholesale in Finland, Sweden and Norway. NEOT is owned by SOK and St1 Nordic Oy and we work in close cooperation with our owners. Annually we supply roughly 7 billion litres of fuel products to our owners’ operations, including large service station chains St1, ABC and Shell. We employ around 50 people.

Our expectations
  • Have a relevant degree (e.g., Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or engineering studies) or be close to graduation
  • Have some relevant work experience
  • Have an analytical mind with good communication skills and a drive to grasp issues in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Be a true team player and continuously look for ways to do things better and learn
  • Have very good Excel skills and ability to learn new systems with ease
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
