“ You get so much knowledge about so many things and feel that you are doing something important! You help people find new jobs and contribute to an exuberant labour market. ”

Emelie had studied social science at Stockholm University for about a year when she felt that she also wanted to gain practical experience in the industry. Therefore, she was immediately interested when asked to consider applying for a part-time job as a recruitment assistant from one of Clevry's internal recruiters via LinkedIn.

''The role has made me dare to contact new people in a different way than before, and since I interact with people from different professions daily, I never have a hard time finding something to talk about in social contexts anymore.''

“It was a perfect arrangement for me to work two days a week in parallel with my studies. I did not know what to expect from Clevry, but while sitting in the reception waiting for my interview, maybe four people came by cheering and curiously asked me what I was doing there and if they could help me with something. It provided me with a great feeling, which I later got confirmed to be true”, Emelie says.

At the same time, when Emelie graduated in 2019, a Consulting Manager vacancy opened, which she applied for and later was hired to. She describes the role as great for her development and demanding at times.

“You get so much knowledge about so many things and feel that you are doing something important! You help people find new jobs and contribute to an exuberant labour market. The role has made me dare to contact new people differently than before. And since I interact with people from different professions daily, I never have a hard time finding something to talk about in social contexts anymore. But the role also high tempo, and I’ve learned not to take it too seriously to help avoid unnecessary stress”, Emelie continues.

Emelie is very grateful for her experience as a part-time recruitment assistant and describes it as a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the industry.

“When I stepped into the role as a Consulting Manager, I recognised so much since I had assisted with what I now was going to work with. I brought lots of experiences and perspectives with me into my new role that I still benefit from today”, Emelie explains.

At the beginning of March, Emelie will gain more responsibility when entering a new double role as a Consultant Manager and a team leader for all Consultant Managers in Sweden. She describes this commitment as both exciting but also a little nervous.

“I think it became clear to me first when others told me that I should apply for the role and that it could be suitable for me. I like to be in a role where I feel confident and know how to gain the best results, and entering a new role where I don’t have any experience feels a little nervous and insecure. I have promised not to be too hard on myself since it is not only me that’s going through a change but the whole company, as we’re redoing some structures at the recruitment department,” says Emelie.

The answer is easy when asked what Emelie is looking forward to the most with her new role.

“To work even closer with my team and have internal collaborations. And also develop my coaching and leadership skills and develop the recruitment department further! I believe and hope that I can contribute a lot with my own experiences, safety, positivity, and structure. I get so much energy from my colleagues that I want to be able to give some of that energy back to my team and the company. I have longed to be done for the day. Rather, you are surprised that the whole day has gone by and you should go home”, Emelie concludes.
