We at Clevry are now looking for a Software Developer for our client Elisa Oyj. You can be fully remote in Finland if that’s what you want or be based on any Elisa office locations you prefer. You will start to work through Clevry. The start date for this position will be as soon as possible.
In this position you will work in one of Elisa’s network automation teams. If you have few years of programming work experience, and are eager to grow your developer skills in Java and Kotlin, you might be the talent we are looking for!
This team is building a state-of-the-art platform for network automation. The platform provides tools for automating network installation, configuration and implementation. It also automates provisioning of new services and network operations. Elisa is continuously working on better network service level for all their customers. In the era of fast growing extensive data transfers this requires fast and reliable networks and superior balancing and network operation skills. To master this, Elisa needs not only faster connection technologies but also better tools for their core network and things must be automated. This is where this team and its developers steps in.
Team consists of a dozen professionals, combining the best talents from network domain experts and software professionals. The team is responsible for the whole lifecycle of the product from idea to production and they can optimize the processes, roadmap and solutions independently, targeting optimal short and long term impact. Team follows agile development practices and they are constantly improving ways of working. They also keep the quality up, code fresh and the technical debt very low.
Technologies
In Elisa people are working with modern software tools and DevOps practices. Their system is based on event-driven microservices architecture using Apache Kafka and Neo4j graph database. It’s written mostly with Kotlin, along with some Python and Golang and runs on cloud platform utilizing Kubernetes. We do require that you have experience in some JVM based language and the more you know of the other technologies the better. But most important is that you have strong enthusiasm to learn new things by working as part of the team. We do not require network expertise in your skillset, but this is a great learning opportunity in the world of networking and network automation.

Main tasks
- Software development with JVM based languages
- Working one of Elisa’s network automation teams to improve better network service level for all the customers
- With your team you are responsible for the whole lifecycle of the product from idea to production
- Previous experience working with Java and/or Kotlin
- Some JavaScript or TypeScript and React knowledge
- Eagerness to learn new technologies
- Good communication skills in English, ability to understand Finnish is a plus
