Looking for
We at Clevry are looking for a Business Development Trainee for our client Nokia Technologies. The position that we are looking to fill is a full-time position for 12 months of fixed-term employment and parallel preparation of master’s thesis (Technology). The assignment will start as soon as possible.

The subject of your master’s thesis will relate to the use of IT and telecom technologies in adjacent industries. You will assess the presence, use, and impact of select IT and telecom technologies in adjacent industries (such as medical and industrial equipment), develop a framework to identify the most important technologies and evaluate their significance in the target industry using publicly available patent information. The project will test the framework in one case study.

An ideal candidate is majoring or minoring in product and innovation management, telecom/IT technologies, and/or intellectual property management. Knowledge relating to technologies and system architectures in mobile, telecommunications, radio, and IT technologies is beneficial in the assignment. In addition, studies in business management, and patenting / IP law are appreciated and helpful.

About the client
Nokia Technologies is focused on licensing valuable Nokia intellectual property, including patents, technologies and the Nokia brand. Building on decades of innovation and R&D leadership in technologies used in virtually all mobile devices used today, Nokia Technologies is expanding its patent licensing business, select use of Nokia brand in consumer products through brand licensing, and developing and licensing innovative technologies.

  • A student ready to prepare their master’s thesis (technology)
  • Skills in structuring and analysing large amounts of data
  • Ability to draw conclusions and propose creative solutions to meet business development targets
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and a diligent approach to accomplishing tasks
  • Fluency in both written and oral English and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and tact
  • Flexible attitude and fast learning skills
  • Previous work experience in the applicable field or in an international setting is a plus
