We are looking for you
We at Clevry are looking for a Metallurgist for our client Metso Outotec. The position is full-time (37,5h/week) and permanent. The starting date for this position is as soon as a suitable candidate is found, so apply fast! You will be employed via Clevry to Metso Outotec.

As a Metallurgist you will work on Metso Outotec’s hydrometallurgical technologies development and customer related testing in battery metals technology areas including sales, delivery, and service support. Battery metals hydrometallurgy covers e.g., lithium, nickel and cobalt processing for battery application, battery recycling and precursor (pCAM) precipitation. In battery metals hydrometallurgy you will be a frontline contributor to sustainable energy transition. The location is in the Metso Outotec Research Centre, Pori, Finland
We expect minimum M.Sc. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or process metallurgy (for example from Aalto/LUT University). You will have a supportive team to take care of your onboarding process.

Main tasks
  • Manage, contribute, and execute technology development programs and research projects
  • Manage, contribute, and execute customer related test work projects
  • Provide technical support to sales, project implementation and service
  • Contribute to development of R&D and customer related test work capabilities in Metso Outotec
We expect
  • Minimum M.Sc. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or process metallurgy
  • Some understanding of the chemistry in base and battery metals hydrometallurgy
  • Some knowledge in fundamentals of hydrometallurgical unit operations and understanding the main phenomena in them
  • Excellent cooperation and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for technology development in the rapidly evolving technology area
  • Ability to create positive and can-do atmosphere
  • Fluent spoken and written English, other languages are an advantage
  • Experience in HSC-Sim is a benefit
  • Experience in basic hydrometallurgical or CPI equipment (e.g. mechanical agitation, SX mixer-settlers) is a benefit
  • Ability to travel globally and to engage for longer project assignments anywhere in the world
