We at Clevry are looking for AI Engineer Trainee for our client Nokia Technologies. The position that we are looking to fill is a part to full time position (minimum of 15 hours per week during semester and full time otherwise) and 12 months’ fixed term employment. Start date is in April 2023.
As an AI Engineer Trainee within Patenting Solutions you will participate in AI Platform and AI Solutions development and maintenance work as a member of our MLOps team. You will work with AI Scientists, Data Scientists, AI Product Owners, Service Managers, AI Engineers and IT Infrastructure Specialists to automate tasks, support project teams, develop, maintain and troubleshoot AI and advanced analytics solutions. You will build an understanding of the potential of advanced analytics and natural language processing in patent portfolio management and help develop and participate in building a collaborative work environment to create machine learning models that support patent analysis. In this position, you will autonomously perform tasks with moderate level of guidance and within guidelines and policies. Your ability to take on new tasks and perform quick deep dives into various technologies will be crucial for success.
We are interested in candidates pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Technology. The candidate is expected to have the ability to take ownership of the assigned tasks and drive them actively and the ability to cope with multiple projects. Further, we see that the strong initiative, analytical skills, and knowledge of software development, support, and maintenance processes are highly appreciated.

Nokia Technologies is focused on licensing valuable Nokia intellectual property, including patents, technologies and the Nokia brand. Building on decades of innovation and R&D leadership in technologies used in virtually all mobile devices used today, Nokia Technologies is expanding our patent licensing business, reintroducing the Nokia brand to consumers through brand licensing, and establishing a technology licensing business.
The main responsibilities are
- Participate in AI platform and AI solutions development projects as a member of a team
- Support requirements gathering, data gathering, and other activities in advanced analysis projects around patent and portfolio analysis
- Support other MLOps team members by performing technology deep dives
- Autonomously performs tasks with a moderate level of guidance and within guidelines and policies
- Support communication activities
- Your activities can be adapted based on your competencies and interests
This is what we are looking for
- Current master’s student in Computer Science or Technology
- Ability to take ownership of the assigned tasks and drive them actively
- Ability to cope with multiple projects
- Good communication skills
- Fluency in both oral and written English
- Curios can-do attitude and self-driven way of working
- Ability to work in a virtual environment
- Solid understanding and some experience of programming with a generic ML stack in Python and knowledge of ML libraries are required
- Your ability to write high-quality, production-ready code (readable, well-tested, with well-designed APIs) is a benefit
